Cancel for any reason

Often shortened to cfar.

What it means

An optional upgrade, mostly sold on US plans, that refunds part of your prepaid trip costs (not all of them) if you cancel for a reason the standard cancellation section doesn’t list. It usually has to be bought soon after your first trip payment, and used a set time before departure.

How it reads in a policy

Sample wording, not a real policyWith the optional cover, we refund part of your non-refundable trip cost if you cancel for any reason, at least the number of days before departure shown in your schedule.

What to check

  • The share of costs it refunds.
  • The deadline to buy it after your first payment.
  • How long before departure you must cancel.

Read the policy wording before you buy: what’s covered, the limits, the excess and the exclusions.
