How we earn, and what we never do

The short answer

When you follow a link to an insurer and buy, the insurer pays us a commission. You pay what the insurer’s own site shows; we don’t set or see the price. The commission never changes what a page says, which insurers are listed, or their order.

How each insurer pays

InsurerThrough
VisitorsCoverageTravelpayouts
EKTANot paid at the moment
SafetyWingits ambassador programme

Compensair, a flight compensation claims service (not an insurer) on our flight delay and cancellation pages, pays us a fixed amount for each claim it processes, through Travelpayouts.

What we never do

  • Give advice, or say one insurer or plan is better.
  • Rank insurers, or change their order: it is the same on every page.
  • Show prices, limits or eligibility we didn’t read on an insurer’s own site.
  • Sell insurance, or take payment: you buy on the insurer’s site.
  • Ask for your name, email or health: there is no form here.
  • Use pop-ups, countdowns or fake reviews.

What we count

Each insurer link goes through our own address (/go) first. It records which page and which button it was, then sends you on. Nothing about you or your trip is recorded. A trip handed over from Pick the travel stays in your browser tab only.

The trip from Pick the travel

Pick the travel’s travel insurance button can bring your destination, dates and number of travellers here, so the site can show your trip. They travel in the link between our two sites, are kept in this browser tab, and are never sent to an insurer.
